Hydrogen produced from electrolysis with renewable sources of energy is a promising alternative to highly carbon-emitting hydrogen produced from fossil fuels. Low-emission hydrogen has the potential to decarbonise many industrial sectors such as the fertilizers, mobility, or iron sectors. Nevertheless, its high associated production costs put a curb on the rapid spread of low-emission hydrogen.
