ISA, in collaboration with the Green Hydrogen Organization, is hosting the Green Hydrogen Policy Accelerator Training from October 21 to 26, 2024, at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi.β¨
Β
This intensive six-day course is designed to equip government officials from Member Countries with the latest expertise in renewable energy, green hydrogen production, applications, and policy development. Officials from 15 APAC and LAC countries, along with a few Indian states, are participating in this knowledge-driven initiative.πΏπΌ
At the core of this training is the Green Hydrogen Innovation Centre (GHIC), a dynamic hub that provides extensive information on the green hydrogen sector. In partnership with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the Government of India and the Asian Development Bank, ISA envisions the GHIC spearheading innovation and propelling the green hydrogen landscape towards a sustainable future. π
Β
In his opening remarks, Dr Ajay Mathur, Director General of ISA, emphasized the crucial role of green hydrogen, stating, "Green Hydrogen, with its environment-friendly and sustainable characteristics, should be the energy of choice. Scaled deployment of solar hydrogen can be a game changer. The low-cost availability of solar power in many countries can play a vital role in driving down the costs of green hydrogen production." π
Dr. Pradeep Tharakan, Director, Energy Transition, ADB, added, βGreen Hydrogen is emerging as a key pillar of the transition to a net-zero future with the ability to support industrial decarbonization, power generation, and storage and transport of renewable energy. We are keen to support knowledge and experience sharing.β
Throughout the course, participants will dive into comprehensive sessions covering technology, finance, standards, trade, infrastructure, and strategic planning. Key discussions will also focus on guarantee instruments for green hydrogen, ensuring participants leave with an understanding of the critical role green hydrogen plays in the global energy transition. ππ
