Country Readiness Tool

The tool was developed under the ISA-ADB project under the Phase 2 project ‘Ecosystem readiness assessment for production and utilisation of green hydrogen’.

This interactive tool helps assess the indicative readiness of countries for green hydrogen development using ISA’s standardised framework. By analysing qualitative and quantitative inputs across critical parameters, it generates a readiness score based on ISA’s country assessment methodology. Users can explore readiness levels across various relevant factors, helping identify priority areas for interventions, policy actions, or strategic engagement. The tool also enables comparisons between countries, offering valuable insights for planning targeted country-level initiatives.
Such outputs are generated based on assumptions entered by any user, across seven key parameters:

  1. Renewable Energy Assessment: Current RE deployment and potential for scaling up
  2. Current Hydrogen Consumption and Outlook: Present use, projected demand, and sectors of application
  3. Strategic Intent: National policies, roadmaps, and alignment of stakeholders
  4. Infrastructure: Availability of power, water, ports, and logistics infrastructure
  5. Technological Prowess: National R&D, demonstration projects, and localization
  6. Ease of Doing Business: Investment climate and regulatory framework for RE and hydrogen
  7. Cost of green hydrogen production: Estimate of green hydrogen production cost (LCoH) in the country

The tool generates a comprehensive readiness score ranging from 1 to 5. This is determined using a weighted scoring system based on key parameters.
