Green hydrogen cost assessment tool

The tool was developed under the ISA–ADB initiative as part of Phase 2 of the project ‘Ecosystem Readiness Assessment for Production and Utilisation of Green Hydrogen’. 
This comprehensive and adaptable tool enables users to estimate the indicative production and landed cost of green hydrogen based on project-specific inputs. Key parameters include:

  1. Plant configuration: Capacity, utilisation, electrolyser technology, specific energy consumption, storage, and transport
  2. Cost assumptions: CAPEX, OPEX, network charges, balancing power, and losses
  3. Renewables procurement: Model type, capacity mix, and capacity utilisation factor
  4. Financials:Taxes, duties, subsidies/incentives, and broader financial assumptions. The tool outputs a detailed component-wise breakdown of the Levelised Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH), along with key financial statements—cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheet—as well as financial indicators such as NPV and IRR.
