China has achieved a maritime decarbonization milestone with what is being hailed as the world’s first confirmed green ammonia ship bunkering, carried out at Dalian Port using renewable ammonia produced at Envision Energy’s 500MW hydrogen plant in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia. The operation was executed by China Shipping and Sinopec Suppliers and involved refueling a tugboat that now replaces up to 91% of its fossil fuel consumption with ammonia.
