Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has launched a formal consultation on its draft Hydrogen Acceleration Act, aiming to streamline permitting, procurement and approvals for hydrogen production, import and related infrastructure. The draft would endow all forms of “climate-neutral” hydrogen and its derivatives—and key assets such as pipelines and import terminals—with “overriding public interest” status until 2045, giving projects legal priority in approvals.
