Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), in strategic partnership with IIT Madras and the Tamil Nadu government, has unveiled the Hyundai HTWO Innovation Centre—a 65,000 sq ft research and development hub dedicated to green hydrogen technologies. Situated at IIT Madras’s Discovery Satellite Campus in Thaiyur, Chennai, the facility marks the first phase of HMIL’s ₹100 crore [$11.9 million] investment toward advancing India’s hydrogen ecosystem. The initiative is partly funded through the Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) and aligns with national objectives for decarbonization, energy independence, and self-reliance.
