Johnson Matthey (JM) is upgrading its Gothenburg site to include advanced hydrogen internal combustion engine (H₂ICE) testing facilities. Alongside the site’s existing diesel engine test cells for both heavy and light-duty vehicles, these new capabilities enable, for the first time, full-scale engine testing for hydrogen combustion—an evolution from prior, component-level H₂ICE development. The upgraded test area is expected to be operational by autumn 2025.
