TotalEnergies has signed an agreement with RWE to purchase 30,000 tons of green hydrogen per year, to be delivered via a 600 km pipeline to TotalEnergies’ Leuna refinery in Germany starting in 2030. The green hydrogen, produced by a 300 MW electrolyzer in Lingen, will help reduce emissions at the refinery by 300,000 tons of CO2 annually and marks the largest hydrogen contract from an electrolyzer in Germany.
