AHMEDABAD: Torrent Power Limited on Tuesday announced it has been awarded a Letter of Intent (LOI) by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for a 1,500MW pumped hydro storage project. This marks the first long-term pump storage capacity contract awarded in India. The project will provide Maharashtra with 12,000 MWh of energy storage capacity over a 40-year period.
