The UK government has committed £63 million [$84.9 million] to 17 cutting-edge projects through its Advanced Fuels Fund (AFF), targeting sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production, with a major emphasis on hydrogen-based e-fuels. More than half the funds will go toward initiatives using clean hydrogen, bio-methanol, and captured carbon dioxide to generate synthetic jet fuel—reinforcing the UK’s ambition to lead the global clean aviation transition and support 1,400 new jobs.
