All six eastern German states have set up a joint initiative on renewables-based hydrogen. It is intended to closely connect politics, business and science on the fuel “in order to fully utilise its great potential for the energy transition and climate neutrality,” the states said in a press release. Initially, they aim to push progress among all German states to improve the regulatory framework to set up a hydrogen economy, as well as the expansion of distribution grids for green hydrogen.
