India is ready for a massive shift in its energy sector, as projections indicate that hydrogen demand would go up to 15-20 million tons per annum by 2030, from the current consumption of 5-7 MMTPA. This ambitious target is in line with the government’s commitment to net-zero emissions by 2070. And it is expected to require an investment of around ₹8-10 trillion in developing the necessary infrastructure and production capabilities.
