Peru’s Ministry of Production has approved the Detailed Environmental Impact Study for the Horizonte de Verano Green Hydrogen Production Plant in Arequipa. The US$11.2 billion project will include a water desalination plant and a solar PV facility with a capacity of up to 5.85 GWp. Once fully operational in five years, it is expected to produce up to 85,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, with the first phase delivering 20,000 tons per year within 18 months.
